Benefits & Compensation
At 3M Canada, compensation has two components: base salary and variable pay. Variable pay may include sales commissions and annual incentive. You may also qualify for merit increases or promotions based on performance.
Annual Incentive Plan
This plan links a portion of your pay to company metrics. Based on company performance and eligibility, payments are made to employees annually.
Long-term Incentive Plan
Based on your job level, you may be eligible to participate in the long-term Incentive Plan. Stock options, stock appreciation rights and restricted stock units grants encourage management employees to increase their 3M stock ownership and align their financial interests with those of other 3M stockholders.
Sales Incentives
Each sales representative's pay includes a monthly base pay and sales incentives, paid monthly or quarterly, depending on business performance and the business you represent.
Health Care Benefits
Your health care benefits are an important part of your total compensation at 3M Canada. You are eligible to participate in most of these benefits beginning on your first day of employment.
Medical & Dental
3M Canada pays the majority of the cost for medical and dental coverage.
Disability Benefits
3M Canada provides company-paid short-term and long-term disability coverage in the event you become ill or are injured and unable to work.
Life Insurance
3M Canada offers a variety of life and accidental insurance plans for you and your eligible dependents. Basic Life Insurance coverage is provided at no cost to you; other Optional Life Insurance coverages are offered at group rates. As your needs change, you may adjust the mix of your life and accident coverages, subject to the evidence of good health requirements.
Domestic Partner Benefits
3M Canada offers same sex domestic partner benefits to employees who meet the requirements of having a domestic partner. Eligible domestic partners and their eligible child(ren) can receive medical and dental benefits as well as optional life insurance coverages, subject to plan terms and requirements.

Personal Savings
After two months of service at 3M Canada, our General Employees Stock Purchase Plan allows you to contribute 3-10 percent of your after-tax pay to purchase 3M Canada stock at an option price that is 85 percent of the fair market value of the stock.
Retirement
3M Canada's Retirement Program combines the stability of a Defined Benefit (DB) pension with the growth of a Defined Contribution (DC) account in addition to a company matching contribution.
