Vehicle Graphics Installation Training Level 1 (VIT1)
The 3M Vehicle Graphics workshop is not just for installers - benefits sales and marketing staff, design and production staff, and owners as well.

This workshop will focus on what it takes to sell and install graphics as well as understand what films and adhesives to use for a successful application. You will leave the seminar with more confidence and understanding of your products & services using practical techniques to ensure a successful printing & installation - and have had fun at the same time!
In addition to a full vehicle wrap led by an expert installer, we have a Sprinter door for training on specific application techniques to successfully apply graphics in deep compound channels. We also have a Caravan back door for training on specific application techniques to successfully apply perforated window film onto curved glass.
Each one-day session will consist of 6 hours of training:
- 2 hours instruction
- 6 + hours hands-on

Advanced Installation Training (AIT2)
It’s time to take it to the next level
3M Commercial Graphics is pleased to introduce a 2 day training workshop for Advanced
Installation Training. You’ve been introduced to most of the technical portion and
experienced hands on in Vehicle Installation Training now it’s time to learn additional
techniques and Practice, Practice, Practice. (Participants must have completed 3M
Vehicle Installation Training Level One (1) within the last 18 months in order to
register for 3M Advanced Installation Training)
Hands-On Stations include the following application surfaces:
- Smooth Rivet Trailer Panels
- Corrugated Rivet Trailer Panels
- Sprinter Door Full coverage
- Caravan Back Door window
- Caravan Back Door lower panel
- HHR Rear ¼ panel, door and window
- HHR Front Fender and door
- HHR front bumper
- Rough Textured Brick Wall
- Floor Graphic
- Smooth Formica Wall
- Wall Test Kit
It is strongly recommended that you complete the advanced training and use your new found skills for a few months prior to signing up for the 3M Preferred Installer Testing. The Preferred Installer testing includes working on the applications stations listed above and a written test. Testing is based on the ability to meet a minimum mark of 80% on each of the stations listed above as well as the written test.

Preferred Installer Testing – (PIT)
After completion of the 3M Advanced Installation Training workshop, participants can complete the Preferred Installer Testing. This is a challenging program for the individual, designed to test the graphics installer who seeks to be best in class.
The Installer successfully completes the 3M Preferred Installer test. The test is a rigorous two-day hands-on and written test, which includes demonstrating knowledge and/or skill for the following applications: vehicle wraps, boat wraps (written test only); trailers with rivets and corrugations; smooth walls; textured surfaces; floor graphics. Other applications may be added at 3M's discretion. Participants will have had practice on each of the stations during their Advanced Installation Training.
- The installer completes signs and submits an application/agreement form along with proof of individual or company liability insurance.
- Upon successful completion of the testing, 3M will issue an accreditation stating that the applicant is now a 3M Preferred Graphics Installer.
- Renewal requirement
- Credentials may be reviewed if misconduct is reported to 3M
- If deemed necessary a written / hands on test may be required
- 3M Preferred Installer Guidelines to be strictly adhered to
- 3M reserves the right to refuse to issue, revoke, or renew the credentials of any 3M Preferred Graphics Installers that has been deemed to be in breach of the said 3M Graphics Preferred Installer agreement.
