LONDON, Ont., May 4, 2012 – Today 3M Unitek Canada launched the Incognito Lite Appliance System, a fully customized orthodontic solution to treat mild-to-moderate cases of anterior (front teeth) crowding. Placed on the inside (lingual side) of the teeth, the braces are unnoticeable to others, to realign the “social six” teeth, those in view when smiling or talking. The product received the prestigious international prize, The Red Dot Award: Product Design 2012, for its fine design in health care products.

3M Unitek developed the Incognito Lite Appliance System as the ideal choice for relapse orthodontic cases to complement its traditional Incognito Appliance System. The Incognito Lite Appliance uses the same advanced technology as its predecessor, featuring completely customized brackets and robotically bent wires, yet requires less brackets and three predefined archwires, enhancing ease of use. Orthodontists benefit from the easier accessibility to the lingual areas of the anterior teeth used for system placement. Thanks to the unique production process of the system, which includes digital technology, precise treatment results can be achieved.

The Incognito Lite System is perfectly suited for patients with less complex malocclusions. Each patient receives a personalized prescription customized for his/her specific treatment plan. Patients find the customized, low-profile brackets comfortable and adjust quite quickly to the appliance.

Hidden behind the teeth, Incognito Lite System is a discrete way to straighten crooked teeth and provides the same precise treatment results found in the traditional Incognito System. In addition, patients may experience shorter treatment time compared to removable aligners because the Incognito Appliance System is worn all day, every day.

For newly certified Incognito System providers, it offers an easy start in lingual orthodontics. To learn more about the Incognito Appliance System family and upcoming certification courses, please visit
